This USB-C (Thunderbolt 3/4 compatible) to DVI-D adapter converts the USB-C video output of current MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iMac, Mac mini and iPad Pro models into a standard single link DVI-D signal — the exact input your Cinema Display needs.

With native support for resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz, it drives the 23" Cinema Display at its full native resolution with a clean, all-digital picture.

  • True plug and play — no drivers, software or external power supply required. Connect and you're working.
  • Advanced conversion IC — a built-in active chipset converts the USB-C digital signal to DVI, for a stable, artefact-free image.
  • Male to female design — USB-C male connector to DVI-D (24+1) female port, so you can plug your existing DVI cable straight in.
  • Nickel-plated connector — resists corrosion and improves signal transmission over the life of the adapter.
  • Moulded strain relief — reinforced cable housing for everyday desk use and travel.
  • Compact and portable — short lead keeps your desk tidy and slips easily into a laptop bag.

Compatibility

Works with any USB-C device that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, including:

  • MacBook Pro and MacBook Air (2016 and later, including Apple silicon models)
  • iMac and iMac Pro with Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C
  • Mac mini and Mac Studio
  • iPad Pro and iPad Air with USB-C
  • Windows laptops and tablets with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode, including Dell XPS and Microsoft Surface

Displays supported include the Apple Cinema Display 23" (A1082), Apple Cinema Display 20", and any monitor or projector with a DVI-D input.

Please Note

  • The USB-C source device must support DisplayPort Alt Mode video output. USB-C ports that are data or charge only will not work.
  • The DVI-D port outputs a digital signal only and does not carry DVI-I analogue video. It cannot be used with passive DVI to VGA adapters.
  • This adapter is single link and is not suitable for the Apple Cinema Display 30" (A1083), which requires a dual link DVI connection.
  • DVI does not carry audio. Audio will continue to play through your Mac's own output or a separate audio device.
  • The adapter is directional — it converts USB-C to DVI-D and cannot be used in reverse to feed a USB-C display from a DVI source.
  • DVI cable not included.
