OWC NVMe M2 enclosure vs another brand HOS

I was so unimpressed with the enclosure I bought 2 weeks ago, that I bought the OWC at twice the price, and it has been well worth it. The previous (name withheld) was black, a 2 piece design, but only half was metal, the other half was plastic. It had no suitable mounting screw hole to hold down the my 4TB SSD. The USBC socket was indented so a standard Thunderbolt (4) cable could not even be plugged into it (the cable was the same brand as the enclosure). Instead it came with a non approved cable only 15cm long, so it would not reach the desk from my macMini M4 mounted on the rear of my Phillips screen with a VESA mount. It ran super HOT even with the tiny screaming fan crying out to be hit with a hammer. Basically CRAP.

The replacement OWC is also 2 parts, both metal, with a screw hole in the correct place to hold down the SSD. Because it is solid aluminium (I assume) with fins to disperse the heat, it doesn’t need a fan. I can touch it without being burned. The UCB-C connector is also on a flat panel, so you can use any length cable you want to, in my case a 1m ThunderBolt 4 cable.

IMO, just spend the money and get one of these enclosures.

I have only had this ext case for a couple of weeks so can't judge durability but so far read and write speeds have been as advertised and the case stays much cooler to the touch compared to my Samsung T7s. I installed a Kingston KC3000 2 TB NVME and get about 2900 MBps write and about 3100 MBps. read.
