Gets very hot!

I bought two and set them up with USB-C power and Ethernet. They immediately got warm and remain warm when not plugged into a computer (but with the power supply and ethernet attached). Once in use they get very hot. Performance and quality otherwise seem good but I worry that they are using energy all the time and inefficient in use if they create high heat levels.
