Just what I didn’t know I needed (!) and was recommended by one of Macfixit staff. It does the job of holding my 1 Tb SSD external drive in place on the lid of my Macbook and so far without issue. If I was going to suggest improvements, it would be the following:
1. different colours- not just black. Black is heat absorbent and we know what heat does to SSD’s- why not silver or white?
2. The sticky stuff that does the job of attachment is seriously industrial which is good but is was a bit of an ordeal to peel off the backing. Maybe make it easier some how.
