Compatibility:

You can control the Nanoleaf Outdoor String Lights over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or with Matter over Wi-Fi.
You can connect your lights to the Nanoleaf App via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
For control with just the Nanoleaf App, only Bluetooth is required.
Connecting to a smart home ecosystem app is done via Matter over Wi-Fi and requires a Matter compatible hub.
To connect to a smart home ecosystem, a Matter-compatible smart home hub, Thread border router and iOS/tvOS 16.5+ or Android OS 8.1+ is required.
