Relocate the power port assembly
Heads up — this part takes real force. The original power-supply socket (the DC-in port) is glued firmly into the enclosure, and it has to come out so the new driver board's port can sit in its place. After removing any securing screw, rest the tip of a flat-head screwdriver against the socket's glued attachment point and tap the end of the screwdriver with a hammer to break the adhesive and knock the socket loose. Keep the taps firm but controlled, working around the socket until the bond gives way and it comes free.
