Thunderbolt 4 cables support data transfer at up to 40Gb/s, daisy-chaining of up to six Thunderbolt devices, DisplayPort 1.4 video output for 8K displays, and up to 100W of power delivery. These cables are fully backward compatible with Thunderbolt 3, USB 4, and USB-C devices, making them the most versatile cable you can own for your Mac.

Thunderbolt 3 cables also support 40Gb/s transfer, dual 4K display output, and 100W charging — identical performance to TB4 for most workflows. They're typically more available and slightly more affordable.

Not all USB-C cables are Thunderbolt cables. Only cables specifically certified and labelled as Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4 carry the full 40Gb/s bandwidth — using a standard USB-C cable with a Thunderbolt dock will result in reduced performance. Our listings clearly indicate Thunderbolt certification.

Cable lengths range from 0.5m for connecting a dock directly behind a monitor, to 2m for greater desk flexibility. Note that passive Thunderbolt cables up to 2m maintain full 40Gb/s bandwidth; active cables are required for longer runs.
