DiskWarrior 5 For Mac
Repair and Recovery Utility

DiskWarrior 5 is shipped on a USB drive
The Essential Mac Disk Utility
Everything just disappeared after your Mac went haywire. All your work documents. The music you most enjoy. The movie of your kid's first steps. It's your life and it's gone. Don't panic! DiskWarrior will recover your documents, photos, music and any other files when disaster strikes and you lose access to your files.
DiskWarrior gets you back up and running fast!
Perhaps you've tried to open a document and all that happens is a color wheel that spins and spins and spins... Or your Mac no longer starts up... Or your external hard disk no longer appears... Or your MP3s won't play... Or every time you look through your photos, your Mac crashes. These might indicate directory damage or even a pending drive failure.
DiskWarrior repairs disks no other utility program can repair.
With a single click, DiskWarrior reads the damaged directory and finds all salvageable files and folders and builds a new error-free, optimized directory for you to use.
DiskWarrior repairs those cryptic errors reported by Disk Utility.
Messages from your Mac such as "Invalid node structure" and "Keys out of order" may seem mysterious or even scary but DiskWarrior fixes these problems and many, many more.
DiskWarrior saves your hard-earned money.
You can try other utilities but you'll probably end up needing DiskWarrior to recover your data. You'll save money buying DiskWarrior first.
You can easily check if your missing documents and items have been recovered.
DiskWarrior's patented preview feature lets you see how your disk will appear after it is repaired, but before any changes are made. You can even compare your disk in its damaged state to its repaired state.
DiskWarrior is incredibly safe to use.
DiskWarrior verifies your repaired directory to ensure it is error free. It then uses a fail-safe method of replacing the damaged directory to ensure that interruptions such as power outages won't harm your data.
DiskWarrior monitors your drive's health.
Using SMART technology, DiskWarrior can automatically test and alert you to impending drive malfunctions.
DiskWarrior is so advanced it can even recover your data from a failing drive.

Just plug a new drive into your Mac and let DiskWarrior copy your good files from the failing hard drive to the new drive.

DiskWarrior diagnoses common file problems.
File paths, permissions, invalid plists and other problems are tested to ensure your files can be found when you need them.
No one supports you like Alsoft.
Alsoft's support technicians are data recovery specialists and know disks and disk directory structures inside and out. In the rare situation in which DiskWarrior can't recover your data automatically from a Mac formatted disk, their technicians can usually remotely recover your data and get you back up and running. This can save you literally hundreds or thousands of dollars versus sending your disk to a data recovery service.

Highlights
  • 64-Bit —Today's large disks can have large directories. Using the latest 64-bit technology allows DiskWarrior 5 to handle even the largest disks.
  • Ships on a bootable flash drive to repair your startup disk — Flash drives start up much faster than DVDs and can be updated as needed.
  • Includes the new DiskWarrior Recovery Maker— New Macs have new OS X startup requirements. DiskWarrior Recovery Maker updates your DiskWarrior Recovery flash drive with the latest OS X.
  • Runs from OS X Recovery (Recovery HD) — In an emergency, you no longer need a separate startup disk to run DiskWarrior on your startup disk unless your startup disk has partition table damage.
  • Repairs partition table damage — Sometimes the damage is to the map that describes all your drive's partitions which makes all your partitions unavailable. DiskWarrior 5 can repair standard Mac GUID partition tables when started from the DiskWarrior Recovery flash drive.
  • New architecture — Updated to use the newest OS X technologies while still supporting older PowerPC and Intel Macs that can no longer run the latest OS X.
  • Significantly faster — For many disks, directory rebuilding is twice as fast as the previous version.
  • Recovers more data from drives with hardware malfunctions — Recover your important files from most failing drives, possibly saving you thousands of dollars in professional recovery costs.
  • Detects and repairs more disk problems than ever — The best is even better.
  • New Directory Optimization Index — You can tell how efficient your directories are at a glance.
  • Repairs Time Machine backup disks — Drives containing Time Machine back ups can have enormous directories that were often too large for DiskWarrior 4. The 64-bit memory addressing of DiskWarrior 5 allows these drives to be repaired or recovered.

Apple File System (APFS) disks are not recognized by DiskWarrior 5.0 and will not appear in the list of disks.

Startup Disk Repair Requirements

DiskWarrior now ships on a bootable flash drive instead of DVD. If you plan to rebuild the directory of your startup (built-in) disk, you need to start up from another disk capable of starting up in OS X 10.5.8 through 10.13, such as the DiskWarrior Recovery flash drive or your Mac's OS X Recovery (the Recovery HD). OS X Recovery is available in OS X 10.7 (Lion) and later.

The DiskWarrior Recovery flash drive ships with the ability to start up any Intel Mac that originally came with OS X 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 installed. If you have a newer Intel Mac, you can use the included DiskWarrior Recovery Maker to update the DiskWarrior Recovery flash drive to start up your newer Mac.

Installation Requirements

To install, you must be started from OS X 10.5.8 through 10.13 with at least 2 GB RAM. More RAM may be required for large directories.

Additional Requirements

If you plan to rebuild a Fusion Drive, you'll need to run DiskWarrior while started from OS X 10.8.2 or later.

If you plan to rebuild a disk that is encrypted with FileVault 2, you'll need to run DiskWarrior while started from OS X 10.7 through 10.13. Alternatively, you can decrypt the disk and then run DiskWarrior.

If you wish to enable DiskWarrior's automatic hardware monitoring, you will need to install the DiskWarrior application on your Mac. To install the DiskWarrior application see the install requirements above.
